Respect our Library

Help us to make the Library a pleasant and productive working space for everyone

R  Return your Library books on time - especially if they have been reserved.

E  Eating cold food in the Library is ok, but always eat hot food in the cafe or foyer.

Silent study means just that! If you need to talk, move to an appropriate area or book a study room.

P  Please put your rubbish in the bins provided and clean up after yourself.

E  Everybody is entitled to a quiet and pleasant experience in the Library.

C  Cigarette smoking and vaping are not permitted in the Library. Smoking shelters are provided outside.

T  Tell us if you encounter any problems. We're here to help.

We aim to treat our users in a fair and consistent way, with dignity and respect. Please remember to treat Library staff with respect.

Noise in the Library

If you are experiencing noise or disruption in the Library, don’t suffer in silence!  Please let us know about it so we can help:

  • Send an email to librarynoise@leedstrinity.ac.uk
  • Let us know which Library you are in, and where in the Library you are working
  • We will do our best to respond within ten minutes during our library staffed hours
  • Outside of these hours please visit the Library Helpdesk and report any problems to Security staff

The Library is a quiet space for everyone to work in. We provide social areas and Group Study Rooms for those who need to talk, but noise levels do have to be kept low in all areas of the Library to enable everyone to work there.

Anyone making excessive noise in the Library may be asked to leave, as outlined in our Acceptable Use Policy and the University Student Conduct and Discipline Code:

Library policies

These policies apply to all users of Leeds Trinity University’s IT and Library facilities and resources. They are designed to enhance your learning and working environment and to enable everyone to use the facilities and resources effectively.
