Some Library requests may be fulfilled with an interlibrary loan. This means that Leeds Trinity University Library can borrow items owned by another institution for our users. The Library will request the required item from another institution, receive the item, loan the item to the user, and arrange for its return to the loaning institution.
This service is free to our users, as the Library subsidises the initial cost of borrowing an interlibrary loan. The loan period may vary depending on the lending institution. A fee is charged for renewals of interlibrary loans, including overdue loans. Please see Interlibrary loan renewals below for further details.
Interlibrary loans are owned by another institution and are expected to be returned in the condition in which they are issued. Borrowers accept liability for the full replacement cost and/or any administrative fees for items that are returned late or damaged, or for items that are lost by the borrower.
Borrowers must sign a copyright declaration detailing the rules of use for the item.
If the Library decides to purchase the item rather than loan from another institution, this will not be counted against any allowances.
