This specially fitted sensory space is on the first floor of the Horsforth Campus Library. The space is mainly intended for our neurodiverse users and also for others who need to take a moment.

  • It is single person occupancy - no need to book - just turn up, but please switch the door sign to 'In Use'.
  • Inside the space, you will find a chair, bean bags, a white noise machine, some sensory lighting, sensory toys and activities, and blinds.
  • We ask you to consider other users who may wish to make use of the space, and leave the room as you found it once your immediate need has passed.

If you have any questions or comments about using this room, or you would like to find out more, please contact us.

The Wellbeing space is an open area on the first floor of the Library that offers:

  • a curated collection of books themed around mental and physical health, wellbeing and sustainability
  • relaxing activites including jigsaws, games and colouring
  • plant and seed exchange (dependent on availability)
  • book donation bin
  • soft seating and greenery

Activities can be taken to other areas in the AKLC but please remember to return them!

Noise in the Library

If you are experiencing noise or disruption in the Library, don’t suffer in silence!  Please let us know about it so we can help:

  • Send an email to librarynoise@leedstrinity.ac.uk
  • Let us know which Library you are in, and where in the Library you are working
  • We will do our best to respond within ten minutes during our library staffed hours
  • Outside of these hours please visit the Library Helpdesk and report any problems to Security staff

The Library is a quiet space for everyone to work in. We provide social areas and Group Study Rooms for those who need to talk, but noise levels do have to be kept low in all areas of the Library to enable everyone to work there.

Anyone making excessive noise in the Library may be asked to leave, as outlined in our Acceptable Use Policy and the University Student Conduct and Discipline Code:
