Local resident membership is available to members of the public aged 18 and over living or working within the permitted postcode areas:
Local resident membership is valid for up to 3 years; registered external users must reapply to extend their membership once membership has expired.

For purposes of safety and security, all applicants are required to show documents confirming both photo identity and proof of name and address such as:

Applicants are also required to submit a recent passport style photograph with their application.

Once your application has been received we should be able, if approved, to produce your membership card within seven working days.
You will be notified when your card is available for you to collect.
All external members can borrow a total of 5 items on a two week loan period.
Your loans will be renewed automatically for six months, unless they are reserved by another borrower.
After six months, you will need to return the items. We will remind you two days before items are due back, and we will remind you when items are one day, one week, and two weeks overdue.
Fines will only be charged on items that have been reserved and not returned, and on items that have not been returned after the 6 month automatic renewal period. See our page on fines and charges for more information.
Unfortunately, you will not be able to reserve items that are out on loan. If you have any queries about your account please contact us.
