Online ebook reader features

Clicking the Sage Catalyst link from library search opens the ebook directly in the Talis Elevate ebook viewer.

Full text search

You can search within the content of the ebook by clicking the magnifying glass icon on the left-hand side of the screen. This will display a search box. The results will display in a list below the search box.

Keyboard navigation

Some functions of the application are keyboard operable. Page scrolling, chapter navigation, and the main menu icons (e.g. settings) are keyboard operable. Some content (e.g. highlighting book content) is not keyboard operable.

Magnification

You can zoom in using the 'font size of content' slider under the settings menu. Talis Elevate is also compatible with screen magnifier software, such as:

  • ZoomText
  • Read&Write

Text reflow

Pages reflow at correct levels and screen sizes. [double check this] 

Screen reader (text to speech)

Talis Elevate is fully supportive of eReader software and plug-ins, including:

  • JAWS
  • NVDA
  • Narrator (Windows)
  • VoiceOver (masOS, iOS)
  • ZoomText
  • Read&Write

Alternative text

Change page and background colour

You can change the page colour by using the 'Background colour preference' option under settings.

Change text font and size

Both font size and font type can be changed under the settings menu.

Downloading, printing and alternative formats

Full text download

Download options are available by selecting the download icon in the top right. Licensing restrictions only allow for you to download one chapter per book, every four months.

Printing

There isn't a print option available within [Sage catalyst], however you can use the print options available within your web browser (e.g. in Chrome/Edge right click the page and select 'print'). [Double check print allowance].
