Accessibility Statement: Pure Portal

Accessibility Statement for Leeds Trinity University research website (Pure)

This accessibility statement applies to the Leeds Trinity University research website (Pure portal).

This website is run by Leeds Trinity University. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts
  • zoom in up to 200% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

My Computer My Way has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

How accessible this website is

We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible. You can see a full list of any issues we currently know about in the ’Non-accessible content’ section of this statement.

We have completed a core set of basic checks which identify key accessibility barriers most likely to affect disabled users. This includes testing with automated tools and some assistive technologies as well as manual testing. While not a comprehensive WCAG audit, this should still serve to highlight key accessibility blockers.

We intend to expand our testing in future to provide more detailed accessibility information for all systems.

Leeds Trinity University is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

  • The website does not respond to user-side text spacing adjustments. This fails WCAG 1.4.12 Text Spacing (AA).

  • Some researcher pages contain their individual publications which have “PLUM X” scores. Some of the listed publications do not have the plumb metrics present but the surrounding structure still exists. This fails WCAG 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value (A).

  • In the Access to Documents section of some individual articles the list for relations documents is not correctly structured. This list is often visually hidden but contains direct h3 children. This fails WCAG 1.3.1 Info and Relationships (A).

If you find an issue that we have yet to identify, please contact us using one of the routes described in the ‘Reporting accessibility problems with this website’ section of this statement.

Disproportionate burden

At this time, we have made no claims of disproportionate burden.

Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

Online maps

The online map on the website homepage can be used to locate publications by country. An accessible alternative to the map is available via the 'Select a country/territory from the list' link.

3rd party content

Leeds Trinity University does not have control over all content uploaded or linked to from pages. For instance, some PDF documents or datasets are research outputs published by journals or other 3rd parties. Often these documents are provided in formats required by the associated publisher.

If you need documents available in alternative formats, please contact us using the methods listed in the ‘Feedback and contact information’ section of this statement.
