Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

  • The "more options" controls at the end of the navigation list, carousel items on individual book pages present some aria role conflicts which may impact readability. This fails WCAG 1.3.1 Info and Relationships (A) and 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value (A).
  • The tags “word cloud” may offer significant readability issues to screen reader users. This fails WCAG 1.3.1 Info and Relationships (A).
  • The checkboxes present across the reservations page do not have descriptive labels. This fails WCAG 1.3.1 Info and Relationships (A).
  • Some elements in the tags “word cloud” are given visual emphasis by increased font size and emboldening but this is not conveyed effectively for non-visual users. This fails WCAG 1.3.3 Sensory Characteristics (A).
  • Some icon controls and links uses colour alone to differentiate focus state or differentiate themselves from surrounding text. This fails WCAG 1.4.1 Use of Colour (A).
  • There are a variety of text contrast issues with some buttons and link text across the website. This fails WCAG 1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum) (AA).
  • On Mac OS with Chrome browser text resizing doesn’t respond. This fails WCAG 1.4.4 Resize text (AA).
  • At higher magnifications, the advanced search function is clipped off the right hand side of the screen. This fails WCAG 1.4.10 Reflow (AA).
  • At higher magnifications some animated placeholder icons clip the result listing text. This fails WCAG 1.4.10 Reflow (AA).
  • The LTU logo present in the top left corner of pages does not have an accessible text name. This fails WCAG 2.4.4 Link Purpose (In Context) (A).
  • The advanced search radio buttons selection does not receive clear focus indication. There is an invisible tab move between the Journal search button and the Journals by category list. This fails WCAG 2.4.7 Focus Visible (AA).
