What is a systematic review?

In a nutshell

Systematic reviews aim to find and evaluate every source of evidence relevant to a specific research question.

A systematic review is considerably more precise, rigorous and in-depth than a literature review:

  • Literature reviews provide a broad summary of the literature on a topic.
  • Systematic reviews follow a clear and specific methodology so that they can be easily verified and replicated.
