General terms and conditions of use

Access to and use of online resources is subject to copyright law and the licence agreements the University signs with publishers and resource providers. The licence agreements govern how online resources can be used and who can use them. It is your responsibility to adhere to these terms and conditions.

How can I use online Library resources?

As a general rule, you can:

  • use online resources for your own private study, teaching and research as long as it is for non-commercial purposes
  • print or download a single copy of an article or chapter

What am I not allowed to do?

You must not:

  • use online Library resources for any commercial purpose
  • share your personal University username and password or any additional online resource login details with anyone else
  • share print or digital copies of online Library resources with anyone else
  • post any content from online Library resources on the Internet or other network
  • print or download multiple copies of an article or chapter
  • make print or digital copies of more than one article from one issue of a journal or more than one chapter of an ebook
  • engage in excessive downloading of online resources
  • alter or adapt material from online resources
