The brand new Costa Coffee is now open in the Library! Serving all your favourite refreshments, the new outlet will provide a range of hot and cold food for a quick lunch or snack from the ground floor of the Andrew Kean Learning Centre.
Open from 8.00-14.30 from Monday-Friday.

Unfortunately we have had to close the silent study area on the first floor of the Library owing to some damage. We will reopen this as soon as we are able to do so. In the meantime please note the second floor of the Library is a quieter area in which to study, or you can book one of our study carrels here. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

Over the Summer we've been busy in the Library moving books around, to make space for expanding areas of our main collection. You can now find books in Dewey ranges 620 onwards including Business, Management and Marketing on the second floor of the Library.

New Library website
Our new website launched in July and is designed to be easier to use, better organised, and more accessible. Based on student experience and feedback we’ve added features such as Get Started guides and an ever-expanding FAQ section, plus video tutorials, information on accessibility and wellbeing support - and much more! Tell us what you think – fill out our feedback form!
New resources
Our new digital resources for this academic year include:
HeinOnline – a major law journal and primary materials database
Lexis Library International – complements our existing Lexis Library subscription by adding access to content from other legal jurisdictions
Practical Law – a practitioner database that connects with Westlaw
ACM Digital Library - selected journals, technical magazines, conference proceedings and other non-book content in the field of computing and information technology
Plus, we now provide access to all Wiley journals including STEM subjects, not just those for Social Sciences and Humanities!
We are expanding areas of our main collection such as Law and have moved stock around to make space. You can now find books in Dewey ranges 620 onwards including Business, Management and Marketing on the second floor of the Library. As always, if you can’t find what you’re looking for just ask us and we’ll be happy to help.
Longer Loans
After a successful trial last year, we have extended our automatic loan renewal period from six to nine months. If no one requests your item it will be renewed every week for two weeks at a time, saving you the worry of remembering due dates!
Opening hours
We return to our core hours from 5th September and will have periods of 24 hour opening at key times during the academic year. Our current hours and a full calendar can be found on the Library website home page.
